Join us for an evening of music and words on Andrea Gunraj’s new novel, The Lost Sister (Vagrant Press). The book is partially based on a real-life experience of a survivor of the Nova Scotia Home for Colored Children and explores unexpected healing connections people make with each other when justice is elusive. This event will showcase story themes through musical performance and address the November 28 launch of a restorative inquiry report, spearheaded by a group of survivors of the home themselves.
Hosted at A Different Booklist Cultural Centre: The People’s Residence, a non-profit hub, destination, and space dedicated to the intellectual and cultural experience of people of African and Caribbean ancestry. This bookstore is a beloved staple in Toronto and a truly wonderful place to visit.
